Frequently asked questions about the calculators and platform

These answers explain accuracy, units, accounts, pricing, blog content, data protection and the limits of preliminary construction estimates.

01

Are calculator results final construction quantities?

No. Results are preliminary planning estimates based on the measurements and assumptions entered by the user. Actual quantities can change because of drawing revisions, openings, laps, joints, cutting patterns, breakage, site conditions, product dimensions and the contractor's method.

Use the answer to prepare questions, compare quotations and identify missing information. Before purchasing materials or carrying out work, confirm the relevant figure with the approved drawing, supplier specification and qualified site professional.

02

Which measurement units are supported?

Every dimensional field supports inches, millimeters, feet, yards, centimeters and meters. Area inputs provide square versions of those units, and volume inputs provide cubic versions. You can choose a different unit for each field.

When a unit changes, the displayed value is converted so the physical dimension remains unchanged. The calculator then normalizes the input to its internal base unit before applying the formula.

03

Can I mix feet, millimeters and meters in one calculation?

Yes. For example, a room can be entered in feet while tile dimensions are entered in millimeters. The unit selector beside each dimensional input works independently. This is particularly helpful in India, where drawings, market products and site measurements often use different unit systems.

Always check whether a dimension is internal, external, clear, nominal or finished. Correct conversion cannot repair an incorrectly identified measurement.

04

Does the result include wastage?

Tools that normally require a site allowance include a separate wastage or cutting field. A default value is only a starting point. Simple layouts and robust materials may need less, while diagonal tile patterns, fragile finishes, complex corners or difficult handling may need more.

Do not add the same allowance twice. Check whether a contractor or supplier quotation already includes wastage before comparing it with a calculator result.

05

Do I need an account to use the calculators?

No. Public calculators, formulas, examples, reference content and published blog guides are available without an account under the Free plan. An account is intended for saved work, project organisation and paid-plan features.

The demo package includes Member, Editor and Administrator accounts so a developer can test every panel after installing the MySQL database.

06

What do the Personal and Company plans include?

The Personal plan costs ₹200 per month and is designed for one user who wants all platform features, saved calculations, project folders and history. The Company plan costs ₹300 per month and includes all features with multiple-user access and shared company workspaces.

The code records plan selection, but a verified payment gateway must be connected before real recurring payments are collected. Taxes, invoices, cancellation rules and final limits should be confirmed before public launch.

07

Who can manage blog articles?

Administrators and Editors can access the blog management panel after secure login. Both roles can create, update, upload images and publish articles. Only the Administrator role can permanently delete an article.

The public blog reads published posts from the PHP API. If the API is temporarily unavailable, three built-in educational articles remain visible so the public page does not become empty.

08

Can these tools be used for structural design?

No. A preliminary concrete volume, steel weight or staircase count is not a structural design. Member sizes, reinforcement, foundations, seismic detailing, fire safety and load calculations must come from approved drawings and qualified professionals.

Never reduce a structural dimension or reinforcement quantity merely because a general calculator displays a smaller number.

09

How is account information protected?

Passwords are stored as one-way hashes by PHP, not as readable text. Login creates a random expiring token whose hash is stored in the database. Protected API routes check both the token and the user's role. Uploads are limited by size and verified MIME type.

Production security also depends on HTTPS, secure hosting, backups, patching, monitoring and careful administrator access. No responsible service should promise absolute protection.

10

How can I report an error or suggest a correction?

Use the Contact page or email support@myhomejankaari.com. Include the page link, the exact statement or result to review, the measurements used and a reliable supporting source when possible.

Editorial corrections should be documented and reviewed before publication. A clear report helps the team distinguish a software problem from a drawing, unit or assumption difference.
