How to use the Skirting Calculator
Enter the internal length and width of a rectangular room. Subtract doorways or sections that will not have skirting, then enter the length of each ready-made piece. For irregular rooms, calculate individual rectangular sections or measure the actual skirting runs and use a separate quantity take-off. Cutting patterns and corners may increase the final order.
Material sizes & reference dimensions
Use these as common planning references only. Actual product sizes, structural dimensions and effective coverage can vary by manufacturer, region, design and specification.
Cost guide
Multiply the result by your current supplier rate per pieces. Check packaging and include delivery, installation and accessories separately. The calculator does not include prices or assume a current market rate.
Calculated quantity × current unit rate + labour + transport + taxes + accessories + waste/contingency = preliminary project budget.
Practical accuracy tips
- Count each opening once.
- Use finished internal room dimensions.
- If cutting strips from floor tiles, plan strip yield separately.
Frequently asked questions
Does this calculate strips cut from tiles?
No. It calculates ready-made pieces by length. Tile cutting yield and blade loss require a separate cutting plan.
What if openings exceed the perimeter?
The calculator asks you to correct the opening widths.
